New Veeam Size Calculator

The Veeam size calculator has been completely rebuild, including new useful features, like the computations for ONE’s db. Let’s go to the url

and choose the first one: calculator

The first tab, Data Center, is for the usual virtualization infrastructure (I suggest to immedately switch Advanced on and expand GFS)

clicking on Estimate produces a geen box on the right. The Details gives a lot of further infos, including the good old Restore Point Simulator (not perfect yet)

changing an inupt and clicking Estimate again produces a new green box keeping the old one: great when you have to compare things

changed the est. daily change rate from 5 to 10%

Also available calculators for Agents and Unstructured Data

very important

I want to mention the Object Storage Backup: it’s 100% new for anyone, we cannot rely on our past experience and, because of this, the tool is a life saver.

The calculator for M365 is also here to help us

The calculator for ONE, both for Virtual and Backup Infrastructure

helps us in estimating the DB size (and immedately see if we can rely on SQL Express or no…). Naturally if you want to monitor both, the db size will be the sum of both.

The fornerly known as Veeam Size Estimator is still present, accessible from the hamburgher menu selecting Scenario Builder.

At the end, this tool porftolio is really helpful but, no need to mention, forecasting the “daily change rate” and “yearly growth” is often so hard, that the results of our simulation must always carefully considered before to choose and buy a repository solution. Especially if we are going to go with some technology that’s not so easy/cheap to be scaled later.
